What Is Colour Temperature, What Should I Choose?

This all boils down to personal preference.  If you like the traditional yellowish colour,  then a warm white bulb (2700 Kelvins) is the way to go. This has been the most popular household choice for many years.

A cool white bulb (5000 Kelvins) would give you a modern, clean look. Perfect if you prefer that bright, clean feel reflecting off your fixtures and fittings.

If you are choosing lighting for commercial applications  the right colour temperature is crucial. You would want to set the right mood for your product display.

Most Common Colour Temperature Uses?

Below are some common areas where the different colours are can be used:

Warm to Warm White – living room, bedroom, hallway, etc....

Naturel White to Cool White – kitchen, study, bathroom, cupboard, office, retail, etc.....

Cool White to Blue Light - Commercial, Industrial, Factories, etc.......

How Many Lumens?

Lumens are a measurement of visible light from a bulb or light source. The higher the lumen rating the “brighter” the lamp will appear. You can see from our diagram the difference the amount of watts are need to generate the same output of light between old incandescent bulbs and the new technology of LED bulbs.
